FLATLAND CENTURY

I am pleased to report that my lovely wife participated in her first ever organzied bike ride! Sally did the 32 mile route at the Katy Flatland Century. I was very proud of her! We rode with Johnny P and his oldest daughter Sidney. It was hot, but we had a really good time. I had my first bike wreck so that made it somewhat interesting for a short while. Also had a flat (which contributed to the wreck). I don't know what it is with me and Katy. I have done two organized rides there and had THREE FLATS!!!! Oh well, I guess that is all a part of it.

After the race Sally and I went by Nelson's Water Gardens. Nice nursery. We really enjoyed looking at all of the water gardens. I think there is definately some aquatic plants in our future. After we got home we were wiped! So we took a two hour nap. After that Sally went into to Houston to Celebrate Lydia Dill Steele's 30th Birtday. I stayed home and planted. I planted pumpkins for Sally. I also planted a flat of broccoli and a flat of cauliflower. I also did six squash plants. This is my first attempt to grow these veggies from seed and then transplant into the fall garden. We will see how it works out.
